Sekvens Special was inspired by traditional pottery and the potter’s craft. In wheel-throwing the cone shape is a basic element, and in traditional pottery the edge often slopes inward slightly. This aspect is highlighted in the bowls, which can be stacked to form a cone, serving as a formal paraphrase of the potter’s craft and a sculptural element on the kitchen table. The bowls are cast in stoneware casting slip and fired. After this initial firing, the bowls are glazed with a soft matte glaze. The bowls then go back into the kiln, at 1260 degrees Celsius. Finally, the base of the bowls is polished with wet grinding paper.
